Administrative Assistant (Temporary Position – Saturdays + On-Call Cover)

We are looking for a warm, organised, and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for people and attention to detail, who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Working hours:

Saturdays: 09h00 – 13h00 (4 hours)

Ad hoc cover for staff on leave or off sick (weekdays)

Position Details:

Locations

74 Loop Street, Cape Town City Centre (Primary location)

11 Kloof Road, Sea Point (as and when needed) 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients

  • Manage appointment bookings and reminders

  • Maintain and update patient records

  • Handle billing and payments

  • Communicate professionally with patients via phone, WhatsApp, and in-person

  • Support doctors and clinical staff with patient coordination

  • Manage admin tasks, supplies, and documentation

  • Assist with social media and patient engagement under guidance

  • Help manage emergencies and patient concerns calmly and efficiently

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is available for Saturday mornings and ad hoc weekday coverage

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is tech-savvy and able to work with scheduling and messaging platforms

  • Is organised, detail-oriented, and reliable

  • Works well under pressure and adapts quickly

  • Has previous experience in healthcare or customer-facing roles (advantageous)

  • Is computer literate and proficient in Google Suite
